Kia ora Wellington whānau!
Looking for a way to support the arts that’s not just donating cash? The NZ Fringe needs you!
In 2018 we had our very first billeting programme and over 20 artists were housed by generous Wellingtonians during the Fringe Festival. In 2020 we’re doing it again!
We are looking for responsible and friendly locals to host a number of house-trained out of town artists coming to Wellington in March 2020. Whether you can host 1 or 10, on a 3 seater couch or a lavish four poster bed in your stand alone guest accom, we want to hear from you.
All the shows and exhibitions in NZ Fringe are self-produced. That means artists are covering all their own production costs, and relying on ticket sales for income, while we do everything we can to support them. It means most artists coming from out of town are coming on very very limited budgets, and would benefit massively from the generosity of locals. In return, the NZ Fringe can offer you free Addict Cards, which discounts shows, and gives specials at our Fringe venues and local associated businesses, and the artists themselves can offer you tickets to their events. There’s also that warm glow of knowing you’ve helped artists, the greatest satisfaction of all, making you a true patron of the arts.
The Festival runs from 28 February to 21 March, and any time within that period that you can host someone is great. Most artists are here for less than a week at a time.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, then please put your details in this form and we’ll be in touch.
Feel free to pass this along to any of your friends or family who might be able to help out!
